Ingredients :-

  • 300 g Margarine
  • 185 g Demerara sugar
  • 375 g Porridge oats
  • 1 ½ tbsp golden syrup

Method :-

  • Heat oven to 180°C
  • Line baking tray
  • Place the margarine, sugar and syrup in a saucepan and melt together over a low heat
  • Remove from heat and stir in porridge oats
  • Spread evenly in the tray and cook in the oven for about 20 minutes
  • Once cooked, remove from oven and leave to stand for 5 mins, then cut into squares.

The recipe may be altered by adding the following ingredients :-

Cherries, Raisins, Chocolate chips, Marshmallows, Dried fruit, Smarties
